Zalgiris have refound themselves. They were in a deep mental crisis for a while but last week's trashing wins over Gran Canaria and Rytas gave Zalgiris a new bout of fresh air. Zalgiris were great again on the Thursday evening when they overcame Bayern Munich on the homecourt 85-79. 85 points were the least Zalgiris scored over the last two weeks and all their rivals were marginally better defensive sides that Pasvalys. Pieno Zvaigzdes conceded 99 points in their last two home games against Rytas and Lietkabelis, so Zalgiris are going to have a lot of offensive fun in this game. Zalgiris' main offensive strength is playing through the big guys, while the frontcourt defence is the weakest area for Pieno Zvaigzdes, to make matters even worse for Pasvalys.
Pieno Zvaigzdes have somehow become the best offensive team in the country over the last couple of months. They can score points against any level of defence, although they won't score as many as they did against other sides as Zalgiris are the defensive kings in the league. However, Zalgiris will rotate heavily in this game as a double Euroleague week is approaching, which makes offensive tasks for Pasvalys a little bit easier.
Both sides have been on a roll recently and offence has been shining in quality for both too. Therefore, taking over 164 on the total looks like a smart betting selection for this Saturday LKL action.

The great EuroCup quarterfinal best-of-three series continues as ALBA and Malaga have the series tied at 1-1 with the deciding match meant to be played in the German capital city. Malaga won Game 1 here 91-90 8 days prior to this game, but Berlin went triumphant in Malaga three days later with a sensational 101-81 road win. As you can see offence is a dominant aspect in the series as both sides are better trying to score than guard their own basket. Thus I wouldn't be surprised to see another scoreline rich in points, although an opposite version of the game would be quite logical too - there's too much at stake and both teams have adjusted yet to each other's style, so defence has to step in at some point in the series.
I think this game is all about psichology and the tougher and luckier team will win. Berlin are better on the backcourt, but Malaga are marginally better on the frontcourt. That's for offence as both are not that good defensively. Besides, there are many mismatches on the court which have been the leading factor to high-scoring basketball in the series thus far. That said, Malaga have more experience on the roster, because a lot of their lads have plenty of ACB and Euroleague experiene behind their backs. Berlin are win-hungry and ambitious as heaven and hell in one, but they depend on long shots and transition offence a bit too much, so if Malaga control the game rhythm and get some luck with ALBA missing threes, they have all the chances to get another road win in the series.
I believe Unicaja are slightly underestimated for this game considering their experience and class. Therefore, I like them as underdogs.

This is a game between two lower table part sides. Andorra are strong at home. They are yet to lose in the Eurocup at the Poliesportiu d'Andorra this season, winning 9 out of 9. They have won only half on the ACB home matches but this is reasonable as the quality of the ACB League is outstanding. Fuenlabrada are not strong on the road with only 3 wins this season away from home, therefore Andorra are heavy favoured by the bookmakers. A fact that Fuenlabrada lost their last two games by around 30 points difference also hints a home win. However, there is one big reason I am on the underdogs' wagon this time.
Fuenlabrada can eye only the ACB League trying to take as many wins as they can in the remainder of the regular season in order to stay away of the red relegation zone. Because of that, they can prepare for each game in the best way they possibly can. The same can't be said about the hosts, for whom this match will be a third one this week. On Tuesday they lost 75-79 at ASVEL in the Eurocup quarterfinals to tie the series by a 98-79 home win three days later. As a sequel, the best-of-three series is now tied at 1-1 with the decisive match meant to be played on Wednesday. Four games in 8 days is way too much even for an enduring side like Andorra. They must prioritise games during such a heavy schedule, and I don't think the Fuenlabrada game is their priority with a historical chance to make it into the Eurocup semifinals within an arm reach. It's possible that Andorra head coach Navarro will rest some leaders or limit their minutes on the court. Fuenlabrada head coach Cuspinera mentioned on the home website they would need to play up-tempo to get a result, which is a smart idea with fatigue certainly affecting the hosting side. Fuenlabrada are not that bad to waste a 10-point gap given by the bookies against a fatigued and Eurocup-oriented Andorra with their minds on the decisive Wednesday match in Villeurbanne.against the mighty ASVEL.
I believe there's nice value on the away side in this game.

Juventus are a team to watch right now as far as I'm right in my near future prediction. They have all it takes to be a strong middle table side with a lot of depth and a good balance on the roster. The Red Devils from Utena have a versatile frontcourt, athletic forwards who can be very efficient both offensively and defensively, and great guards who can run, pass the ball, score a lot of points all by themselves. Juventus are a great team - they have been so for years. They have a wonderful organisation and a wonderful fan base, and they have made smart signings on the players market for many seasons. Their main issue is usually injuries and this season is not much of an exception. However, the vast majority of the players are healthy now and I have doubts only about Runkauskas. Juventus may not be very good away from home, but playing on the home court they are like beasts being pushed forward by great home support. It's one of the toughest arenbas in the country to play at, even for the Lithuanian powerhouses like Zalgiris Kaunas, Rytas Vilnius, or Neptunas Klaipeda.
Nevezis are a bottom team and I think they will finish the season in the very last position due to bad coaching and a lack of chemistry within the team. When former head coach Cvirka was fired and his assistant Dimavicius became the new head coach of Nevezis for a while it seemed that Nevezis can get out of the bottom. They began to move the ball better and play more like a team but then Collins left the team for a bigger sallary and his skills are hard to replace. Hearst and Parker are solid one-on-one but they overhold the ball and often forget the teammates, which makes defensive tasks for opposition much easier. Besides, this season's Nevezis lack muscles inside the paint and thus are very vulnerable defending the paint - the area Juventus love to strike through. Finally, Nevezis lack a backbone and tend to give up soon after falling behind, which could be fatal playing the merciless hosts who never look back once they smell blood.
I believe Juventus are too good for Nevezis at the moment and Utena also need wins badly to strengthen their sixth position. In my opinion, there'll be little rivalry in this game and Utena will win convincingly.

Both teams are offence-oriented, so I am a bit surprised to see the points total set as low as it is. Checking the team stats it may seem that neither team are particularly good offensively but this is because both often on rivals who are a lot better than them and thus can guard with more efficiency. Now that these two VTB United League underdogs are taking on each other in the city of Perm, which is by all means the capital of Russian basketball, I expect to see a free-flowing offensive match. The reason is Parma are playing at home against a team with very bad defence, but the visitors from Latvia are also enjoying themselves offensively right now, so an overish match is really to be expected with little pressure laying on both teams as neither have real hopes to make it into the playoffs.

Rytas sprang a surprise in the middle of February when they defeated Zalgiris in the Lithuanian Cup final and won a title after a three year draught. Rytas were choking at the grip of Zalgiris' defence for the first three quarters in that game but they stormed back in the fourth by winning it 27-16 due to some highly unbelievable shots. Therefore, Zalgiris will return to Vilnius full ambition for a sweet revenge and their Thursday 98-64 Euroleague win over Gran Canaria has given them extra confidence before this principal trip to Vilnius.
I really do not envy Rytas the luck they have had this week. They helplessly lost a Eurocup quarterfinal best-of-three series to Valencia 0-2 and were trashed in both games. On top of that, Rytas lost team captain Kramer in Game 1 in Valencia and the latter will return to the court not sooner than September, according to early medical predictions. Kramer was instrumental for Rytas lately, so his absence is a huge hit to Rytas' offence. Moreover, going into this game against Zalgiris Rytas can virtually count on 8 players only as Pilauskas, Normantas, Tabutis or Blazevic can't play a significant role against teams like Zalgiris. Rytas heavily depend on leading players Parakhouski, Bendzius, Butkevicius, Rakocevic, and Seeley but this week all the mentioned guys have already played so many tough minutes in two games against Valencia that expecting something extraordinary from them is just unbelievable. Rytas will be fighting like lions, because nowadays their chemistry is great and the fantastic support is back in Vilnius, but I am not a big believer in their offence with fatigue taking a drastic toll on this team. Zalgiris have proved this season they know how to handle Rytas' offence well and Kaunas are the best defensive team in the country too with only 70.1 points allowed per match. Fatigued, Kramer-free, and emotionally hit Rytas can't shine offensively, but defence is another story.
Zalgiris scored 98 against Gran Canaria in their most recent Euroleague home win but that was because the Canary side were reluctant to demonstrate any sort of motivation in that match. Zalgiris are weak offensively overall, and for this game they will be missing a few key players like Jankunas, Wolters, and Kavaliauskas. Birutis is out too. Zalgiris' main strength is attacking the paint through the big guys, but three of them are absent. Besides, Parakhouski showed in the Lithuanian Cup final he can handle Davies - the scoring machine of the Greens. Butkevicius can cancel Ulanovas and visa versa, and the same appeals comparing Walkup and Seeley. Zalgiris know they need to keep the defence tight and stay smart on slow possession and Rytas will be beaten this time.
Rytas won three weeks ago 70-67 but I can't imagine them winning this time. What I do imagine is another low-scoring match where smart and stingy defence will be the culprit of this big derby game.

This is a very important game for both sides. With 14 wins and 9 losses Lietkabelis are ranked fourth, but Pieno Zvaigzdes are only one step below with 13 wins and 10 losses. The teams shared wins in the first two LKL regular season meetings but Pieno Zvaigzdes were blasted by Lietkabelis in the King Mindaugas Cup two game series in the quarterfinal stage. a win today would lift Pieno Zvaigzdes up to the fourth place they are dreaming of day and night, but Lietkabelis will have other plans for sure.
Pieno Zvaigzdes may look like the favourite of the match at first glance, because they are playing at home and because Lietkabelis have been dealing with a lot of injuries lately. Some of the formerly missing players are back like Sinovec and Cekarevic, even though the latter is not fully fit yet. Giedraitis and Jasaitis are still absent for Lietkabelis. Under such circumstances, Pieno Zvaigzdes look better to take as the potential winners but this team depend on the long shot and transition offence way too much. Lietkabelis are smarter tactically, so if they switch off Pieno Zvaigzdes fast break points and Pieno Zvaigzdes don't make lots of threes, their offence may get stuck. Lietkabelis will surely try to keep the game tempo low looking for their big guys Kupsas and Dimec offensively, so the game may not be very pacey. Besides, this is a very important game for both rivals ladder-wise and also a bit of local Aukstatija derby. Therefore, I believe the game total is set a bit too high.

Siauliai and Skycop belong to the the lower part of the LKL standings. While Siauliai are where they were supposed to be according to many basketball specialists' opinions before the season, low-flying Skycop are a bit of surprise. Siauliai are young and inexperience, and their budget is very low. I couldn't describe Skycop as a money bag team as well, but they have so much experience Siauliai could only dream about. Janavicius, Gecevicius, the Lavrinovic brothers and Lukauskis all have international games experience by playing for the Lithuanian national team in the past, while Labuckas, Leonavicius, Grant, and Lipkevicius are very solid performers at this level. Siauliai can run the ball down the court really quick, and they have two aggressive shape-gaining center forwards in Udras and Griciunas but Prienai have a lot of great shooters and a lot more intelligence when it comes to playing five-on-five on slow possession. Skycop must win games like this as winning in the LKL is not a easy task for an ageing veteran team like Prienai, so they should exploit their experience and avenge Siauliai an 80-88 home loss in Prienai when the sides met last time.
Prienai have got much more talent and experience, and if they manage to handle the fast break threat posed by Siauliai then the visiting side should nick this win eventually.

Rytas lost the first series game at Valencia 64-75 and now the Spanish club are up in the best-of-three series 1-0. What's more, Rytas lost their captain and first-choice playmaker Kramer for the rest of the season as the latter tore off his knee ligament. Therefore, the situation is not ideal for Rytas. However, the Vilnius side are a team of fighters. This is the best season for them in years and the fans will fullfill the Siemens Arena for sure. Rytas will give their best and more, no questions asked.
Valencia are considered as the favourite to win the Eurocup this season, which is a bit of overestimation in the Valencians' favour. Yes, they are very experienced and dangerous, but they are nowhere near that good on the road as they are at home. Besides, Valencia leader Dubljevic is struggling with some sort of injury, while old hand French playmaker Diot was left in Valencia as he's injured. He didn't play in Game 1 either.
All in all, I believe both sides have quite equal chances to win. Valencia are the better team in the series and they know they still have one game in hand, so it's not a do-or-die match for them. On the other hand, Rytas have got their backs pushed at at the wall and out of the big respect to their fans they will try to outweigh the strengths of Valencia by team effort and energy. A lack of depth will go against Rytas as well, but I have a feeling in the gut that taking the hosts at 2.80 or so is a good value bet anyways.

Euroleague games are never easy to predict. The quality of the teams is even to the point that has never been reached before, so the very smallest details oftentimes determine the winner of a given match. Anyway, this game looks very predictable and attractive betting-wise in so many aspects that missing it wouldn't seem logical.
Buducnost have not shown any more than many could expect from them. Yes, they are stubborn. Yes, they have players who can shoot the ball very well on their days. They have even managed to take some scalps of the biggest European teams by handing defeats to CSKA Moscow, Barcelona, or Real Madrid but it seems like the Montenegrin race car has run out of fuel. They have lost their last four Euroleague games. Besides, all the losses were heavy. The excitement of playing in the Euroleague and the wind beneath the wings as a result are now gone, and rival teams are treating the Montenegrin side with more respect. Therefore, it's hard to see Buducnost making a second good run of results at the season stage where the playoff contenders have no more right to waste precious points, while Podgorica have nothing serious to play for.
Olympiacos were named as one of the Euroleague favorites before the season start as usually. Coached by Blatt and with many famous faces on the roster, this team was a reasonable force to be treated with respect. They started the season well and were holding on but then the disaster came and now the team are on a five Euroleague losses in a row. They are standing eighth in the rankings so far but wasting a change to snap the losing streak in Podgorica would be a massive blow for the entire Olympiacos organisation. Very much like not making it into the playoffs. The Greeks must find the strength within themselves to show their best both offensively and defensively against Podgorica, a team they are so much better than in many ways, on a way to a win of extreme importance.

This game is a Eurocup quarterfinal match between two long-term tournament giants Valencia Basket and Rytas Vilnius. While Valencia have always been a top force in the Eurocup, I could not tell the same about the Lithuanian side, which has been out of the elite for nearly a decade. However, Rytas have made improvements this season.
Rytas are aiming to climb up to the heights they once were at, and that's for a reason - Rytas took the Lithuanian King Mindaugas Cup in the middle of February and they will enter the game after winning 9 consecutive games. Therefore, the Lithuanian side are hard to overestimate.
Valencia are still complete favourites of the pair. They are very hard to defeat on the home floor and have much more experience than Rytas. Together with the home court advantage and a solid frontcourt, these are the main advantages of the Spaniards. On the other hand, Rytas and younger and hungrier, and they are in a shape they hadn't had for years. Parakhouski, Kramer, Bendzius, Butkevicius, and Seeley are all playing terrific basketball, and the bench players are doing their best to help the leaders. On a paper sheet, Rytas may seem to have a lot of disadvantages against the Valencians - that's why the bookies underestimated Rytas that much. I can't say that a trashing win for Valencia is impossible, because it is. My opinion is, though, Rytas have everything to win and nothing to lose in this series, and they are simply enjoying themselves at the time. They have no pressure from the fans and the media and the recent win series has been steadily making their confidence grow and sparkle. The same can't be said about the big dads in this pair, because the fans and the media would not forgive Valencia even a minor slip-up in this best-of-three series.
Taking Rytas as underdogs poses some reasonable risks as Valencia can be unstoppable time after time. That said, the Oranges have not been the most consistent side this season and Rytas have grown nasty armour to break, and the handicap is quite solid too. Therefore, the stake is laid on the Lithuanian visitors.

Zalgiris Kaunas have lost only twice in the LKL season so far and both losses came against Neptunas, so the sold-out Svyturys Arena are going to roar again in a hope to see their beloved White-and-Blue aiming for a third Zalgiris scalp this season. On the other hand, Zalgiris can't aford any more slip-ups against Klaipeda - after losing the Lithuanian Cup final to Rytas in Vilnius they have lost their invincibility myth for a while, so it'd be safer to get it back as soon as possible.
Neptunas are solid at home and they know they can't play their usual high-pace offensive basketball against Zalgiris or they could pay big for such an attempt. Along their talent, Zalgiris' other biggest strengths on the local front are their experience, reading of the game and great fitness. Zalgiris' defence is able to absorb any opposition's naive attempt for easy points and turn it in their own fast break points in seconds. Therefore, playing the smart defensive machine of Zalgiris it is very wise not to rush things up and stick to slow possession basketball. That's what Neptunas did in their first two LKL wins over the Kaunas giants, so why should they try to change anything? Of course they won't! They would not be able to even if they wanted to - Zalgiris will enter this game very focused and motivated, no questions asked. The playmaker is pivotal for Neptunas' offence but Zalgiris are very capable of switching the point guards of Neptunas off. Given Neptunas don't have many individuals to play one-on-one efficiently against a Euroleague team, Neptunas' offence doesn't look convincing against the very best defence in the league. Grant's uncertain status is not making things any easier either.
On the other hand, Zalgiris have long lost their confidence they were able to count on for years in the LKL battles at least. Last year's success in the Euroleague made Zalgiris dream big but a few injury woes and a few bad player selections in the summer market are ruining their season yet. It's very likely that two important role actors Kavaliauskas and Wolters. Offensively, Zalgiris are far from their best nowadays, but their defence is very solid in every game. As I've already said, Zalgiris can't afford a lack of focus in this game, because they would not be understood by their fans if they lost to Neptunas once more. Therefore, Zalgiris will seemingly share Neptunas' idea to play this game slow and clever, which should eventually bring a positive result for the visitors from Kaunas. Putting in a few words, smart pre-game preparation, a lot of physicality and good defence should crown this Sunday game in Klaipeda.
Although taking Zalgiris to win is a good parlay selection, the handicap market is still without my interest. I couldn't say the same about the total points lines and I'm taking under on the total.

Nevezis may be the second worst team in the standings but they are no more the same boring team they used to be at the season start with head coach Cvirka still in charge. They are now a unit that continues to fight till the end in every game, although I doubt they can make it into the playoffs. Collins' departure at the beginning of February hit Nevezis hard as Collins was by far the best scorer in the team and his replacement Hearst is nowhere close to his precursor in terms of individual class. However, Nevezis are a young and running team and Siauliai have been terrible at transition defence this season, so I am optimistic about Nevezis' offence in this match.
Siauliai are one step lower on the ladder than their rivals. In other words, they have been the worst LKL team so far. Defence is first to blame for such a miserable Siauliai season and 89.1 allowed per game is a good standout for my words. Siauliai are always win-hungry an their head coach Sireika is an offensive genius - the teams coached by him never struggle offensively. Besides, Siauliai added a promising playmaker Allen to their roster during the recent international break window, which should be a boost for their offence as well. Defensively, Siauliai will probably not be able to withstand the windy hosts who are also desperate for victories.
Given this is a low bottom battle between the worst two LKL sides, I expect a very intensive and emotional game. One that is based on pace, short possessions, and quick scoring runs. I also expect a lot of free throws on the both half courts. As a sequel, an overish match looks a lot more likely than an underish one.

I would have dismissed this game for gambling purposes if there had been no scandal in the Copa del Rey final between these two teams on the 17th of February. On that day Real held the game control in their hands for the first three quarters but Barcelona got back from behind in the final one, erased the 14 point deficit and dragged the match into an overtime to win it in the end 94-93. There were some dubious whistles from the referees in the final that took place in Madrid and Real blamed the referees for stealing a title from them. In fact, they lost focus themselves and Barca were very lucky in the fourth quarters, so the referees had nothing to do with the final outcome of the match. However, Real think otherwise and they have even been threatening to withdraw from the ACB League for a while. Of course, they won't but it's obvious this loss made Real furious, so they will be going to Barcelona to restore their pride and show the best. Barcelona are tough to beat at the Palau Blaugrana, but Real are up to the task due to being extra inspired and energised after the mentioned loss in the Copa del Rey.

Poland gathered all their stars for this last qualification window and it paid off - a 69-77 road win over Croatia in Varazdin gave the Poles a dream win and the nation will take part in the World Cup 2019 for the first time since since 1967 when the World Cup was held in Uruguay. This was the only time the country has sent its best men basketball players to the World Cup so far. There is no need to say how the players and Polish basketball fans are feeling right now - Poland can really be proud of themselves.
I believe this triumphant Polish side will be a nightmare for the visiting Netherlands when the sides step onto the court at the ERGO Arena in Gdansk. Poland have never been struggling offensively since American head coach Taylor took the team into his hands and now with no pressure on their backs and so many great talents on the roster, ones like Slaughter, Koszarek, Waczynski, Ponitka, and Lampe on the roster, Poland will probably be enjoying themselves against the modest Netherlands, who have nothing left to play for just like their Polish rivals. When Poland feel the rhythm they don't tend to stop no matter what the gap is, so they are one of those heavy-beating teams who can rip their rivals apart in trashing margins.
The Netherlands often struggle to score points on slow and long possessions but they are very efficient in open court basketball. I have no bit of clue how they could handle Poland's athleticism and one-on-one skills as I can only foresee a bizarre fortune for them on the defensive end. However, this team can score points in open court situations and they have explosive perimeter scorers in Franke, Kloof, Hammink, and Slagter, but their defence inside the paint is dismal and it's a very bad news taking on Poland's well-balanced offence that poses big threats both inside and outside the paint. What I like about this Dutch side is they never throw the hands up to surrender even if they are trailing by an awful lot of points - that's a great merit of their head coach Val Helfteren.
When the teams met at the Maaspoort Arena in Den Bosch last November, Poland won 105-78. A repeat of the scenario is kind of hard to imagine but I am still going overs on the total once again.

The serious qualification battles are over in Group J, Europe zone. Lithuania are going to finish as the group winners, while Italy and Poland are going to line up on the second and the third position accordingly. Therefore, this game is like a pure friendly game both for the Italians and the Lithuanians, so no pressure and frustration will impact it.
Lithuania always try to play to their best in front of the highly demanding Lithuanian fans and their basketball has been amazing throughout the qualification as they rank second among all the European teams with 83 points averaged per match. In spite of missing lots of first-choice stars, Lithuania are going to play attacking basketball like they did it against the Netherlands in a 78-69 road win a couple of days ago.
Italy average 78.8 points per match in the qualification and they are coming to Klaipeda after a remarkable 75-41 home win over Hungary. This win opened a door to China for the Italians, who will play their first World Cup major tournament since 2006. The Italians will also be in a mood to end the successful campaign with a bang, I believe, so this game should be full of vivid offensive moments at the expense of defensive ones. Besides, with head coach Sachetti in charge Italy are playing much faster and thus organise more possessions per game than they used to do with Messina at the helm.
I find some nice value in backing an offensive game between these two great teams.

In the World Cup qualification, Group I, Spain and Turkey have already qualified for the final World Cup stage in China, while Slovenia and Ukraine are clearly out. Montenegro and Latvia will decide the outcome of the final ticket in a do-or-die battle in the Balkans.
Montenegro are one win up at the time and they won it Latvia the first leg 84-75, so they don't even need to win the match to get through. All they need is not to lose by more than 9, and they can get their dream ticket to China. For Latvia the situation is much more difficult as they need to win in Podgorica by more than 9. However, for this game Latvia head coach Vecvagars will be able to count on a lot of star names, including Timma, Dairis Bertans, Strelnieks, Smits, and Peiners. Jahovics and Skele won't be two lonely quality fighters anymore as it was a case in a Friday 62-67 home loss against Spain. Latvia should really win the game at least, although I am not certain if they can do it by more than 9.
Anyway, a Latvia win grabs many gamblers' fancy.

The World Cup Europe zone qualification continues. In Group K the situation is pretty much clear - the Czech Republic and France are through and Bulgaria and Bosnia & Herzegovina have long had nothing but their pride to play for. The only two teams that will decide their destiny on the final qualification gameday are Russia and Finland. Russia won in Finland 77-75 after an overtime at the end of last November, so to enter the World Cup in China Finland will need to win by 3 at least. Any other result will favour Russia and open a door for them to China.
The total given for this game is not high at 152. Both teams have brought small rosters to Perm where the match will take place, so it's logical to expect a high pace game. Russia love to play run-and-gun basketball nowadays and Finland can do the same as they are even smaller than Russia so slow possession basketball is not what the Finns need. The fans are awesome in Perm, so they will be energising for Russia, while Finland will certainly try to count on their long shots, especially as Koponen joined them on the weekend.
I believe in overish basketball in Perm.

This game took little of my attention earlier in the week until interesting news came from Montenegro, reporting Buducnost will play this game without 5 regular players - the Sehovic brothers, Barovic, Popovic, and Bitadze. The Montenegrins are with the national team, while the Georgian center is out with an injury. Therefore, I have very big douts about the defensive quality of Podgorica. Besides, they have very little depth left with the mentioned players absent.
Meanwhile, Zalgiris just have no right to screw up this match. They have a very good and aggressive frontcourt that will have a chance to show their strength against a weak frontcourt team missing their two key towers. After an unexpected 67-70 loss against Lietuvos Rytas in the Lithuanian cup final in Vilnius last Sunday, Zalgiris must restore their pride playing in front of Kaunas audience. The Lithuanian champions still have vague play-off hopes remaining, and this is a totally ideal stand-up game for the Greens aiming to get back the cripled mentality and return to winning ways. I expect a ferocious performance from Zalgiris against the wounded Balkan side.
I see a lot of value on the home team.

Real Madrid and Bayern continue their battle for better players in the Euroleague standings. The Whites are certain they will taste the play-off action and their main focus is better positioning before the playoff brackets, while their visitors from Bavaria are living their dream to test themselves out against the very best European teams in the play-off stage.
Real lost the Copa del Rey last Sunday when Barca topped them in an overtime thriller 93-94. Real were in control of the game for the first three quarters but they relaxed too early and the Catalans stormed themselves back into the match, won the final quarter 31-17 and took an overtime to win it in the end in the aforementioned scoreline. Real are a great team but their problem is they have overfed themselves with victories last season and thus they lose focus oftentimes. That baing said, Real are a terrible side to play against when they get furious and that's exactly the version of Real I expect to see on the young Friday night, because they need to re-establish themselves in front of their fans after the disgraceful Sunday loss to Barcelona. When Real are on fire, they are very hard to stop for any defence and I don't think Bayern will be able to defend efficiently if Real come out banging all their shiny rifles. The return of Llull and Fernandez does add more trust in Real' offence too, no questions asked.
Bayern Munich are still a team to admire and I am a big advocate of theirs this season. They are nowhere near Real in terms of individual class, but they are a team of direction and ambition, so to speak. They are quite efficient both offensively and defensively, but what I like best about the German side is their resilience and killer instinct. They never lose their heads and are quick to exploit any mistake opposition hands to them. As I said, I expect an emotional and ambitional version of Real for this game, which means Real are likely to play high tempo basketball. When they are playing this way they turn the ball over often and make a mess out of things more often than they would like to, which is a good news for Bayern who know how to turn such turnovers into fast break points. Besides, Bayern's perimeter shooters could trouble the hosts as well.
I expect a beautiful basketball event from this Euroleague event and thus am taking over on the total points.
